While at the Thames Festival this weekend I took a picture of one of my favourite views. Just look how many people are on the footbridge crossing back and forth to the Festival. Great crowds, its a well supported event despite the humid and overcast weather.
The view is from the "South Bank" of the Thames looking North along the axis of the foot bridge toward St. Pauls Cathedral. I took a simular shot last year but lost some of the detail in the lower part. This year I have really been working on my skys and I think this shot captures the essence of what attracts me to this scene. The awsome sky helped. However, I really feel that I also managed to capture the wonder of the architecture as well this time. Let me have your views...

Fab shot! Did you ever see the art display where they beamed up words onto St Pauls dome? I was jogging by and saw it and had to stop it was so fascinating and such great words too - my mind went into overdrive it was like being beamed secret messages! I hope that they do it again sometime.
Ominous sky. In Kansas, when the the sky looks like that, they head for the tornado shelters. Love the architecture and being able to see a part of London as you see it.
Great shot. The architecture against the stormy sky really stands out. I also like that you capturedt the people on the bridge walking to the festival.
That sky is quite dramatic, and definitely adds to the overall scene. I think you've definitely captured the architecture very nicely...I love when old and new can blend so well together.
