Pah! T'was too easy. Yet it was a belt buckle. Well done everyone...
Buckles are quite interesting... see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckle
OK, you can stop snoring now!

Honourable mentions...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shirley Chetwynd - It's a belt buckle Net says:-->> yay!!! First and correct. Nice one! Yeehaas!
Well done to...Mary; Devon Williams; Mike Warren; Beth; Brian Buccigrossi; mittens (Marilyn); Sharonlc; Philip Cole; Nancy Holte; Rick Schies; Brian Baptie; Rev. Fr. Joel Osborne; Bonnie Lusted; Dione Giorgio; Bev;
Alison Bailey - Yep, certainly a buckle but I'm feeling too cautious to say that it's on a belt. Net says:-->> Well, I have done a little research. The 'prong' is the moving part that passes through a hole in the belt. The prong is mounted on the middle of the 'bar'. The belt itself is mounted on either side of the prong which sits on the bar in a small slit in the belt. Now, in the picture, if you look to the left of the picture and just above the prong you can see a black area. As this is not the same colour as the rest of the frame and projg (which is brass) one must assume it is the belt, since that is on the bar. So, my dear Watson... simple inductive reasoning gets to what we want! LOL.
Paula Cook-Farkas - Are we buckling under the pressure? I know I am!!! Net says:-->> Actually I have already buckled! LOL!
Howard N - It is a belt buckle for sure... but what size is the belt? Net says:-->> Actually too large by far! LOL.
Lennon's Mom - What do we win?? I think it's a horseshoe!! (kidding) Net says:-->> Well, as you came up with a funny, and a plausible one, and it is funny (well slightly LOL) you get,,,, you get.... A Doohicky Award! Yeeeeeeeeeeehaaaa!!!
Kathy A - I had no idea until I read 'belt buckle so now I know its a belt buckle. Net says:-->> I suppose it does not matter how you get there, its the participation that counts! LOL>
Shanne - it's a buckle, innit Net says:-->> It is innit! LOL
Sue Wilde - A bucklishious photo. Net says:-->> OK funny! LOL> A doohicky award! Yeeha!
Sharon - definitely belt buckly - love the tones and the lighting of this shot - fav. Net says:-->> Thank you kind Lady! A Doohicky Award for you! LOL. Yeehaaaaa!
December 11th, 2011
Well...O.K. a syringe...but surely one with a history..like...maybe...has been hidden in an apple to put Snow White out for the count...or disguised as a spindle...
December 12th, 2011
That is most definitely the plunger of a syringe....
December 12th, 2011
Well, I was going to go with paper cutter but everyone else seems to think it's a syringe. Guess I haven't had enough shots. :)
December 12th, 2011
Cool shot. to me it looks like an upturned soap bowl
December 12th, 2011
Is that a ziploc bag? It looks to me like something that either opens or seals something.
December 12th, 2011
I reckon it's a syringe and that white thing is the end of the plunger that pushes the liquid through the tube.
December 12th, 2011
It's a plugger-upper. It might go to a syringe, but it might also go down the sink drain.
