we don't have seat belts on merto buses either, only on coaches. a great reminder here anyway.

The buttoned mouth emoticon was the closest I could find to convey that I'd belted up as per title instruction - without 'saying' anything. Kind of mime equivalent . A bit too cryptic perhaps. Please excuse my daftness. :-)

@dulciknit - I got it, I LOL'd which is why I did the muffled Hmmmm thing. But everyone else has missed the point. I wondered if it is the language thing. It's a slightly different language across the pond. People may have assumed I am more literal than humorous in the very ironic British way. Also they may not recognise the saying.

@netkonnexion Gotcha! It may well be owing to unfamiliarity with UK expressions.
You've created a lot of interest in our practice of fitting seat belts to coaches, though. It seems that it is a far from common practice.
