Yestderday you saw...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ha! Got most of you in one sweep. The lovely thing about this game is you can play the devil with scale. Yesterdays instrument was only 4 cm (2 inches) in any dimension. So no tire irons, lug irons, wheel braces or any other vehicular tools allowed. Yesterday you saw a radiator or plug wrench. It is used for bleeding air out of heating radiators, opening gas cuboard doors etc... (Not for car spark plugs)
Congratulations to the following for great observational skills...
CocoRose (hoping you meant radiator plugs)
And,
Tashy! Excellent description, spot on;
and, incredibly late in the game...
Sue Wilde - This is actually a specialized tool for a very specific vehicle, which has different ends to fit sump plugs; gear box drain plugs; differential and possibly some other part of the vehicle...but it is very old and specialised. It is, no doubt, European. Could also be the bits to adjust the toilet. Net says:-->> You get tonights "No Clue About Wrenches Award!" Yaaaahaaahaa!!!
Eddy J. W. - Thast got to be a car wrench or ball joint wrench... mmm think am right:) Net says:-->> ...think maybe ya wrong! LOL... Ha!
this reminds me of a clocks work, and probably inside a watch, either a wrist watch or pocket.
the innards of a clock and the front piece with the spring is the hammer that makes the clock chime.
Completely off the wall, is it part of the braking system of a bike?
A barometer for measuring air pressure?
July 17th, 2011
looks similar to where the film picks up and loads into the reel on reel-to-reel, but not quite - maybe part of a dentist's secret torture kit.
Inside of a pocket watch
I just disassembled a Rolex watch to see if the innards matched up to your image. It didn't, and in reassembling I have 13 parts left over. I do think it is the guts of some kind of time measuring device however or maybe some kind of detonator!!! lol
July 17th, 2011
I"D guess it is a barometer mechanism, or a thermostat linkage.
