More about "Identify This"... http://365project.org/netkonnexion/number03/2011-05-11

Yestderday you saw...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What? Again? Nearly everyone got this one too. Am I going soft? OK, yesterday it was a crowbar or jimmie bar. It is used to crack open doors, open packing cases and in my case act as a fire escape aid. I am sure there are plenty of other uses for the leaverage this provides. Well done everyone. Caught me out.
Honorable mentions to...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lisabell - Oh, I know what it is, but why should I spoil it for everyone else? That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Net says:-->> Coo... Really? Great story... LOL.

Howard N - Mr. Net, you are showing me the business end of, what we call, here in the states, a pry bar or nail puller, probably any where from 18" to 36" in length. It may be similarly slotted on the opposite end only curved for additional leverage when removing the stubborn suckers. Net says:-->> OK Howard, you get tonights "Precision Award For Hard As Nails Removal Tool Description!" Yahooo!!!

Kathy A - It s clearly an emu's foot! Net says:-->> Drat and double drat! Why did I not see that? Oooops! No, but a Doohicky Award! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahay!

Jen E - early prototype for the fork? Net says:-->> Excellent effort! No, but a Doohicky Award! Yoohoway!

Paula Brumbe - Some people may chose to play with crows while holding the bar, I prefer to call this the weapon I keep under my bed. Net says:-->> Ah ha! I have seen your sort before... you have to be prised out of bed in the morning. a "Doohicky Award!" Yabadabapoo! LOL.

Paula Cook-Farkas - A very large tuning fork? Giant magnet? @brumbe 's personal defense system? Net says:-->> Wow! High creativity quotient today! Excellent. Love the large tuning fork idea! a "Doohicky Award!" Yammmmmooougha!!!

Rick Schies - One leg of an iron patio table. Net says:-->> Oooops! No, but a Doohicky Award! Yaahy!

Nancy Holte - Yes, I've seen this before. It's a thing-a-ma-job, doohickey deal. Net says:-->> No deal on the DH. LOL.

Sue Wilde - The business end of a jimmy bar...for doing the business of jimmying bits off other bit of things. Net says:-->> OK... Nice one. So here is a bit of an "Awar...!" LOL.

Shirley Chetwynd - It's a yellow two pronged gadget for something or other ..well it is. Net says:-->> Yes it is... LOL.

Missy - I have NO idea, Tell me please Net says:-->> A crowbar. Its written at the top of this page! LOL.

Alison Bailey - Crowbars looked different in my day :-) but, as far as I can tell (knitting needles and dulcimer hammers are more my thing) that's what it is. It doesn't look like a claw hammer, the claw isn't thin enough, long enough, and don't they tend to be more curved than that? Net says:-->> Wow! Thanks for sharing the entire thought process with us. I feel so informed... LOL.

Nadine Swart - Short crowbar, also known as a wrecker's tool (my husband knew instantly...). Net says:-->> Wreckers tool! Sounds like that what my kids have been using all these years without me seeing the tool! LOL

Thanks for all your fun answers tonight. Take care.

Duhhh!! (That'sit for tonight's thought process :-D )

obviously it is the screw end that goes into a much more important part.

Almost looks like part of a tripod... ???
July 24th, 2011
Have no clue, but at first I thought of some type of ink cartridge
July 24th, 2011
is it a sillicone gun or a vice
July 24th, 2011
A type of mount for a camera.

I've not seen a gizmo such as this in quite some time, if ever. If I had seen one recently I do not know if I would have remembered it or maybe not. It has a number of clamping, locking and releasing capabilities so I am going to guess it is just that, some sort of very sophisticated framing, clamping doohickie to construct picture frames...
or maybe NOT!

Tripod and camera mount?

Tripod camera mount

Device that couples a laser beam to the head of a shark. Dr. Evil told me this.
July 25th, 2011
I'm going to go with the crowd on this one with tripod mount
July 25th, 2011
I have no idea.
July 25th, 2011
How about a hint? I don't have one of these...If I go to the store what should I ask for?
July 25th, 2011
At first I was thinking vise grip...but now I'm liking camera mount for a tripod.
July 25th, 2011
Tripod mount? I hope!
July 25th, 2011
Looks like some sort of clamp. What is t with all the tool type things?
July 25th, 2011
Looks deceptively like a tripod mount but I'm pretty sure it isn't. Some sort of vice grip...probably from a metal tooling workshop (and it hasn't been used) or, equally likely a locking mechanism for a sliding window...does that mean I get 2 guesses?
July 25th, 2011
not too sure, but i'm going to go with a clamp (like some of the others :p)
July 25th, 2011
It looks like some kind of vice-grip?
July 26th, 2011
That is a handy gizmo. If for no other application other than the tripod/speedlight set-up. In the garden it would certainly add another dimension. If I were to ever attach my camera to the roof of my car... I'd probably forget I put it there and... ! I have an A570 IS,,, we're almost second cousins!
