Tonight, da.daaaaa! I present to you one of the greatest! What is it? Accuracy please...
More about "Identify This"...

Yestderday you saw...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ah! I think I got most of you on this one. Although some did get it right... and good on 'em guv'nor! What you saw yesterday was none other than a "Manfrotto Article 035 Super Clamp". Use it to attach all sorts of studio equipment to other sorts of studio equipment. For example a camera to an overhead bar, a light to an upright column, a second strobe to a light stand... etc, etc. A most useful piece of equipment. You can see the rest of my picture here...
You can see one to buy here...
A distinction here... A clamp is used to fix something to something else. A vice is used to hold something while work is carried out on it. This is not a vice as it is used to attach items of studio equipment to other items. It is not substantial enough to act as a workshop vice.
One or two of you got close enough to be right... Those were:
TheSaint - A type of mount for a camera. Net says:-->> Yes!!! A clamp mount for lights and cameras...
Kathy A - Looks like some sort of clamp. Net says:-->> In fact that is exactly what it is... for studio items.
Natacha Murphy - not too sure, but i'm going to go with a clamp. Net says:-->> Spot on...!
For those who got close and mentioned a camera & tripod mount, strictly no. This is not really a tripod mounting for a camera. Although it can be mounted on a tripod for the purposes of adding extensions etc. So a second class win goes to...
Frances Chaloner; Shirley Chetwynd; Jen E; Peggy Sirk; lorihiro; scooter
Honorable mentions to...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shanne - connector and tap for gas or air supply Net says:-->> Nope, but credible given the crop... a "Doohicky Award!" Yahawee!!.
Alison Bailey - Duhhh!! (That'sit for tonight's thought process :-D ) Net says:-->> Great effort! I can hear it ticking... LOL
Paula Brumbe - obviously it is the screw end that goes into a much more important part. Net says:-->> Well, it goes into something LOL...
Amy Spada - Almost looks like part of a tripod... ??? Net says:-->> NO! But on the right track, a "Doohicky Award!" Yahooodlms!!! LOL.
Rick Schies - Have no clue, but at first I thought of some type of ink cartridge. Net says:-->> Wow! Didn't see that one comeing, but when you look at the shape... a credible effort...a "Doohicky Award!" Yahhhhoo!
shenay - is it a sillicone gun or a vice. Net says:-->> Completely off-track, but I loved the idea of a silly-cone gun! A "Doohicky Award!" Yaghhhiiiho!!! LOL...
Howard N - I've not seen a gizmo such as this in quite some time, if ever. If I had seen one recently I do not know if I would have remembered it or maybe not. It has a number of clamping, locking and releasing capabilities so I am going to guess it is just that, some sort of very sophisticated framing, clamping doohickie to construct picture frames... or maybe NOT! Net says:-->> OOOOOOHH!!! So near and yet so far Howard!!! LOL. Nice try.
Doug O. - Device that couples a laser beam to the head of a shark. Dr. Evil told me this. Net says:-->> ROFL, loved this one Doug, Great answer - a "Doohicky Award!" Yaaaaaaaaaaabadabadooooo!!!! LOL.
Sue Wilde - Looks deceptively like a tripod mount but I'm pretty sure it isn't. Some sort of vice grip...probably from a metal tooling workshop (and it hasn't been used) or, equally likely a locking mechanism for a sliding window...does that mean I get 2 guesses? Net says:-->> So close but not really on the mark... LOL. Good effort...a "Doohicky Award!" Yahoohee!
Ohhh! A difficult one tonight, but good answers. Nice one. Thanks everyone. Take care.
