Wow! I was caught out by so many people knowing what Identify This No. 102 was. It was of course a pencil sharpener. For those who worried about its 'crank', it was around the back all the time.
Honorable mentions...

Howard N - This item sharpens wooden pencils... therefore, we will call it a pencil sharpener! The squeeze thingies will secure the inserted pencil while you turn the crank, hidden on the back side of the machine. The drawer pictured on the lower left of the image collects the shavings, which I hope are to be recycled. Net says:-->> Excellent description - Correct Yeeeeahaw!
Lesley Barber - Pencil sharpener without crank... Net says:-->> Ha! Not quite. The crank was hiding around the back!
Mike Warren - Pencil sharpener. Looks very sturdy. Net says:-->> It has to be sturdy! It has lived with me for more years than I can mention! LOL...
Well, you all caught me out tonight! Well done. Thanks for dropping by.

The Chinese invented this item out of necessity, as they had not invented door jams to wiggle against. The improvement was it's mobility and backs could now be scratched in tents or sleeping bags or in areas where door jambs, fenceposts or trees did not exist.
