Much excitement in our house... well from me anyway! My lovely hubby has bought me a 2nd-hand lens for my Xmas pressie and it was delivered today. I've wanted a 70-200 f2.8 lens for years but they're too expensive. Hubby found a 2nd-hand one online which seems to be in good condition. It's not the current version but the one before, so is quite a few years old and pretty heavy - it'll give me a bit of a workout when I use it. I took a few quick shots to try it out and poor Georgina was sat on the sofa so became my guinea pig. It'll take a bit of getting used to. Now we're "debating" whether I should put the lens away for Christmas day or not, lol!
Such fun to play with your new toy with a great result. Use it up until 2 weeks before Christmas them have it wrapped then it will feel like a new gift as you will be excited to be reunited.

My cunning plan - I’ve got my hubby to agree that I need to use the lens now as it only has a three-month warranty, so I need to give it a good try out before the warranty runs out. It’s still on the camera. 😉😀
You took a lovely portrait. Unfortunately, good lenses are very heavy. I have already stopped risking taking pictures from my hand. It's so frustrating when a cool scene is agitated. I prefer to carry my tripod.
As for the lens, I wouldn't put it away, look at it as an early Christmas pressie
