Pitcher & Glass Balls

One of my favorite family treasures is this hand-blown glass pitcher. It was my grandmother's but I don't think she liked it! I never saw her use it. I inherited it when my aunt and I cleaned out her home. I must admit, it's quite heavy and not easy to pour from, but artistically, it's quite unique! The glass balls inside used to hang above my kitchen sink in a former apartment. I don't have a sunny window to hang them in now, so they've found a new home here. Life is full of times where we must re-invent or repurpose the things we've been given. I've gone through times when I've done this kicking and screaming (I'm not really big on change!), but I think as I've gotten older, I'm beginning to enjoy the creativity of it all. Sometimes change sparks imagination and imagination can bring some surprising blessings your way. Our creativity is a reflection of the God who gave it to us. And He makes all these changes in my life work out for the good. The antique pitcher full of glass balls on my display shelf is a daily reminder of this life lesson.
It is beautiful, a definite keepsake.
