Harebell by olivetreeann

Harebell

I took some time yesterday evening to see what was blooming in my little gardens. I have some pretty wildflowers that have blossomed this year (along with a multitude of mushrooms I've never seen before thanks to all the rain). This lovely blue/purple flower is one of them. According to my plant book Harebell likes a rocky habitat- which explains why it's doing so well in my garden. Mine is full of rocks!

I'm always amazed at how God has crafted so many things in nature to work with less than favorable conditions. Here's a little plant that you might think would get crushed by rocks in a garden, or shrivel in the summer heat of northeastern Pennsylvania. But God has designed it so that it can survive and thrive right where it's planted. So how can I doubt that He will take any less care of me? Or that He has made me lacking in what I need to live well? My focus should be not be on what I think I lack, but on what God has given me to "bloom where I'm planted".
Amen to all that! And this is such a beautiful delicate flower - the frame sets it off nicely.

This is so beautiful. First, I love the purple color. It's so bright and vibrant. I like how the light shines through it as well as the dark green to contrast the light. Excellent composition.... and your words are just what I needed today. I need to focus on what God has given me....!

@jmj @mrssmith Thanks Jennifer, Thanks Mrs. Smith- these were words I needed to hear myself and God just gave them to me as I was putting up the picture. It's been so hard not to be teaching and then to not have the volunteer job I thought would become a "real" job work out. 365 is actually a lifesaver right now. But God is letting me know that no matter what, I have everything I need and I am doing everything He wants me to right now. I'm glad this was meaningful to you as well.

These are lovely and we have them flourishing in some sparse places in Scotland too. They are such a fabulous colour and they do indeed flourish where they are planted. It's a good concept!
