Wandering around Erick's property and looking at all his works in progress always provides me with a wealth of pictures. While we were looking at the area of the yard which he cleared and leveled, the wheelbarrow caught my eye. What a great tool! Of course, that thought got me thinking...
Because wheelbarrows make a load lighter and easier to carry, they always remind me of Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 which says, "Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to one who falls when there is not another to lift him up."
I've had my ups and downs over the past year in dealing with loss and disappointment. But my emotional load has been made lighter by a wonderful wheelbarrow called The 365 Project. Many times when I wondered if my life had any worth or impact, a picture, a compliment, a challenge, even the simple joy of taking a good picture seemed to be a way God provided for me to work through some of those feelings. Oftentimes knowing that others on 365 go through far more than I do is a sobering factor that I really don't have it as badly as I think I do.
So this little homily is for all of you who faithfully follow me and even more faithfully comment on my photos. I have drawn strength from your words and you have lifted me up when I was tempted to wallow in self-pity. To my wonderful wheelbarrows, I give you my deepest thanks from the bottom of my heart!
What a lovely heartfelt comment. I think those of us who faithfully post our pictures day after day are motivated by the same drives you describe. This is such a supportive community, keeping in touch is good for both those who give and those who receive. And we play both roles regularly. Thank you for the inspired homily and the wonderfully textured photo.
You have chosen a great perspective on the wheelbarrow as well. You decide to show the rust and the worn part as that's the most beautiful part of it. I like this. Thank you to you as well for following me!
