Sometimes silence is golden. Unfortunately, not in this case. We have an old frailing banjo with no pegs or strings-the epitome of a sad version of silent.
Yes. I understand this. Musical instruments should not be silent....like the piano sitting in my house that was played many times a day for years just sits there.....I like the black and white as it establishes the mood of this picture.
@mrssmith@digitalrn Thanks Carla- I like the b&w too- definitely the right mood for this instrument. Thanks Rick- I'm not sure we'll be repairing it. It's missing so many pieces- but Jeff doesn't frail. He plays bluegrass- and that banjo is going to be in tomorrow's shot.
@allie912 Yes- my husband plays 5-string. If you'd like to see him plucking away, he's on YouTube under the name Bigfatskinee. I'd list the link, but I'm not really sure how to do that. My favorite is his version of This Is My Father's World, but the medley is also great- two 5 string (Bluegrass) banjos, a 4 string (Dixie) banjo and a bass. I think you'll like that one too. I like to sing and have a teaspoon of talent, but Jeff and our son Erick (drums) are the most musical as far as instruments go.
Loved all his music! He is multitalented AND a great sound engineer. My son plays mandolin--blue grass, Brazilian and classical. I will send some links.
@allie912 Jeff and I watched the song you linked and "Maddie Soki". Jeff really liked that one because it was "out of the box". You have one talented mandolin player there! He's very expressive too-quite entertaining. Thanks for sharing that and thanks for adding Jeff to your "like" column!
@alia_801@bkbinthecity Thanks Alia- I didn't know what I was going to shoot and as I was falling asleep the night before, I remembered the banjo and knew that was "the shot". Thank you bkb!!
@rhubbard That's the one Rich- thanks!!
