We had a wonderful time last night getting to know one another, sharing the things going on in our lives, singing, praying and best of all eating chocolate! The guessing game was a big hit and as promised here is a shot of the winners. No one guessed the exact number but a couple of the guesses were pretty close!
Vicki won the m & ms (all 1635 of them) with a guess of 1400. The tootsie rolls had 268 candies in the container and Linda won them with a guess of 250. And Amy won the Hershey kisses (204) with her guess of 200. I was on my best behavior and had 3 chocolate dipped strawberry pieces, 2 chocolate dipped banana pieces and 1 chocolate dipped apricot. The chocolate fountain made the whole room smell heavenly! And the ladies who came will be telling everybody what fun the silly thing was! I'll be busy with my granddaughter today, but I'll do my best to catch up on your pictures Friday after she leaves.
It looks and sounds like it was a success, and we have used such guessing games at our family Christmas parties over the years. It is something everyone can participate in, and to win is great.
I love the choc. fountain, except cleaning it, but once we tried choc. dipped bacon. I still have not decided if it was great or horrible. I ate three 1/2 slices and even then was confused.
@kerristephens Thank you Kerri- I love it too!! @rayg86 Me too Ray!! @bkbinthecity It definitely was- thanks bkb! @changingtides Thanks Allie- I did have a great time with Leigh- even though it was a short time! @geertje Thanks Geertje- I did have a great time with Leigh and I had to be good after I told all my 365 friends that I would only eat so much chocolate in order to stay migraine free!
@elizabeth Thanks Elizabeth- it was- both with the treats and with the fellowship. @nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole- it was fun- we even had one lady sneak a candy out of one of the guessing jars and everybody gave her such a hard time when she confessed! @alia_801 Thanks Alia- ohhhh chocolate covered strawberries are the BEST!!!!! @digitalrn They are fun, aren't they Rick- I love putting them together. I never come close to guessing the right amount! Thanks for the comment! @bruni I think that's why they didn't mind winning- they could get rid of the temptation in a few days! @sarasdadandmom lol Terry! My husband insists that men do not like chocolate all that much. I am going to show him your comment! @httpgeffed Thanks Colleen- the chocolate fountain was a big hit. @karenann Yes, Karenann, I think you would have enjoyed it very much. Who knows, maybe someday we will be able to meet- that would be fun! @cimes1 Thanks Carole- oh, I could definitely see you having this at a party- except your chocolate fountain might have a few angels looking over things!
@pandorasecho lol Dixie, my granddaughter was with me when I first read your comment, so I told her what you wrote and she said, "CHOCOLATE BACON!!?? Ewwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!" @steeler Thanks Howard! @sanera Thanks Samantha- go for it!! I've seen inexpensive chocolate fountains at Walmart and Kohl's (although I don't know if you have that chain in Canada- but I think Target or K-mart would also have them). @melorac Ah yes... chocolate loving photographers all around the world! @bk12racing Thanks Mike! @prttblues Ooohhh goody for you! Take a big bite for me- I must abstain from it for a little while to be on the safe side.
chocolate fountain! awesome. last month, on my grandson's birthday, we borrowed a chocolate fountain, bought the best belgian chocolate chips and set up the fountain. worked for a while then we figured we didn't put enough oil. we had a good time poking through the fountain. it was a hit with the little ones anyway and now everyone wants a chocolate fountain for their birthdays. my niece who does catering says it might be a good idea to invest in one.
i used to dream of playing splash in a chocolate fountain. but now that i know how much oil is involved, my veins are pulsating! hahahaha.
i see that everyone enjoyed the night. you should have it more often and @karenann and i will conveniently swing by. wonderful collage.
@summerfield Thanks Summerfield- I have another fun one up my sleeve- probably toward the beginning of next summer since we're heading into the cold weather now- Ice Cream for Breakfast. I feel like I'm caught in this bizarre era in my life. My age is a detriment seeking employment but I'm far more confident and willing to do things out of the box if they don't compromize my core values. Ah well, such is life.
