Playing around with the macro setting still and feeling a little uninspired today. I was pretty much shooting things hit or miss, hence the Christmas decoration. Another day and I'll be packing them up for the year, but until then they're fair game for a photograph! This little gal looked a bit forlorn with the brown table as a background, so I gave her some snowflakes to play with.
@woot Thanks Davide- absolutely- although it's a cute little doo-dad, it was really lost against the wood table, so the snowflakes, snow and frame just take your attention away from the brown and highlight the colors in the little figurine causing her to stand out and not the table. @mrssmith Thanks Carla- once again, processing saves the day! @allie912 Thank you Allison. Even though she's got that little light in her globe, it didn't help against the brown table, so I added the snowflakes picking up the color on her sleeves and skin, the snow which also accents the sparklies in her globe and the frame which I wanted to be the same red as her base, but this was the closest I could get without being too overpowering.
I love what you did with the angle....I thought she was flying threw the air horizonatally. did not catch she was standing on a table! The snowflakes and angle work perfectly together. I still intend on shooting some CHristmas pics to use on NEXT year's card while my "stuff" is out....if I do, I'll post mine....no matter if it is FEb.
@potsbypam Thanks Pam! @espyetta Thanks MaryBeth. Wow- I was so focused on the table I didn't think about the angle. Cool! @kerristephens Thanks Kerri! @bkbinthecity Thanks Brian. I'm liking this pre-set macro setting. It gives me the ability to get pretty close to the subject so, I'll be sticking with it for a while- at least until I can find a tutorial on line for the manual setting of this specific camera.
@digitalrn Thank you Rick- I do think the processing turned it into a nice shot. Not my usual subject matter, but the cold was really getting to me today and I just didn't feel like moving! So I took pictures of whatever was handy!
@nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole! I had 4 different shots of her that I liked and processed each one differently. This was the one I chose to post but it was hard to choose a "favorite" since they were all so different. I guess as far as this one goes, I liked the processing because it improved the picture as well as adding to it. @pandorasecho Thanks Dixie! I'm not usually one to add the stickers doo-dads on, but in this case they helped reduce the brown background. So I tried just to add a few. After that, I felt it still needed some toning down. I'd seen the snow effect added on other people's shots and didn't think it was too gawdy, so I added that last and it really finished the photo. It's fun to experiment, and the great thing about digital is that if you don't like it, just a tap of a button takes it all off. @kezzam Thanks Kerry! @alia_801 Thanks Alia! It certainly helped on this one. I try to use this type sparingly. I do prefer to let the picture be what it is, but I do like playing with the processing once in a while. I seem to go in cycles depending on what kind of picture I'm taking!
@karenann Thanks Karenann! Well, I will have 2 decorations stay out all year this year- the ornaments that Leigh and Sam made me. Just can't put those adorable little things the grandchildren made away you know!
Remarkable and fun creation, Ann, and I love the colors.....good work!! The decorations will start coming down tomorrow for me, too.....but it will take me several days to finish. Makes me weary just thinking about it ;-)
@steeler Thanks Howard- that's what it's meant to be- just fun! @cimes1 Thank you Carole! It will probably take me at least two days. My arthritis has been pretty bad this week due to the colder weather. Hang in there and don't overdo it- it will all get done in due time! @geertje Thanks Geertje- this one was just for fun. @brittarnhild Thank you Britt! I'm glad for that! @flydragon Thank you Flydragon! This is definitely one for fun!
@kloud I really try not to be cutsy with my pictures, but this one was begging for it with that brown table sucking the life out of the little figure. The snowflakes just seemed to fit the sparkly snow globe of her body. Glad you like it! Thanks Bonnie! @summerfield Thank you Vikki. I had bought her this Christmas to give away, but then my granddaughter saw it when she was visiting and said, "Grammy, she needs to stay with you she's so cute!" Well, you just can't "argue" with your granddaughter about cute can you?
