5 o'clock p.m. The sun is sinking toward the horizon in front of our mountain top home, the birds are gathering for their last snack of the day at my bird feeder, neighbors are returning from work, and dinner's on the stove. I loved this entry on our March Photo a Day challenge. It was something unique and different and it gave me a great opportunity to look at the end of my day in a different way when I found the reflection of the setting sun on Jeff's van.
Lovely sunset seen through the car windows...something totally different.
I took some pictures of the sunset last night and almost froze my fingertips and then I lost them all. uploading pictures on my old laptop before it broke down they automatically went into file with the date on it..the new laptop I have now doesn't have that feature and I forgot to copy them into a folder..looked for them today and couldn't find them anywhere.
@kimmistephens thank you Kimmi! @karenann thank you Karenann- what you think is moisture on a window is actually just the HDR effect on the side of the van. Since it's silver it took on a grainy effect in the processing. @digitalrn Thanks Rick- oh wow- I didn't realize it was that time already! @summerfield thanks Vikki! @httpgeffed thank you Colleen! @rhubbard Thanks Rich- I'm so glad to see your post here- I was worried about all the 365ers I know in IL, IN and MO. Glad to see you're safe and sound.
@bruni thanks Bruni- oh I'm so sorry to hear about your pictures! There are some recovery programs to get them back from your camera, but I don't know the ins and outs of the best ones. The info has been shared here on a discussion a while back, but I don't remember how long ago.
@olivetreeann Thank you Ann. it's not important...the good thing is that I hope I learned my lesson and will transfer them to keep them safe.. I can always just walk down to the lake and take new sunset picture its not that I had gone out of my way to take them. only 5 houses away is the lake.. I'm just so happy that I worked right away on processing the moon picture or it would've been lost too. thank you for caring.
Ive done one of these!! but for some reason it never made post!! Great Idea for the end of a busy day.. Its nice sometimes to just catch a reflection of it! Beautiful Capture!
@alia_801 Thanks Alia. When the alarm went off (and I set it on purpose so I wouldn't miss 5 pm!) I went outside and was initially going to shoot the shadows of the trees on my yard. But to be on the safe side I walked around the house to- just in case there was a better shot- and this is the result! @woot Thanks Davide- it's my husband's work van. @ellimae Thanks Ellen- well, thankfully there are 365 days (366 this year) so it might end up being posted after all! @peterdegraaff Thank you Peter. I was initially thinking of just posting it sooc, but the colors weren't as pronounced, so the processing helped bring them up a notch. @steeler Thanks Howard! @myautofocuslife Thanks Livia! @twinsplusone Thanks Sharon. I was intending to post a picture of the 5 o'clock shadow of trees across my yard, but after a quick walk around the house this shot appealed more to me. @nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole! @la_photographic Thanks Laura!
And thanks to my husband for always giving his work van such a great shine! It was perfect for the reflection of the late afternoon sun.
@kerristephens Thanks Kerri!
