On Wednesday when I needed to take a picture of clouds, it was sunny and there was not a cloud in the sky. Today, when I need to take a picture of SUN glasses, it's cloudy and misty with no sign of that big yellow orb even making a brief appearance. Needless to say, I really didn't like anything I took today. I didn't even like the 7 (yes 7!!) processing attempts on different shots to post. I settled for this one, but I'm not crazy about it. Other than the reflection, there's really nothing interesting about it. As far as the photo a day challenge goes, it was just an uninspired day. But my second shot, for album #2, turned out much better. So I guess I'm batting 50-50 today: one miss and one hit.
There's nothing wrong with it at all! In fact, in the thumbnail I saw a red heart. The outline being the glasses. Don't feel bad...I was about to quit yesterday so we all have our days!
hah! i struggled with this prompt, too. last year on the very same day, my post were sunglasses and never had any comments. but i couldn't think of any clever or nicer way to shoot my sunnies. so i thought selfie and this time i'd understand if there would be no comments. :-) same as @sgoodin1 sara commented, i thought there was a red heart. love the reflections. but may i ask please what is that thing reflected on the left glass?
@nicolecampbell Thank you Nicole- my you do get to travel with your job!! I love looking down on the clouds from a plane- I am such a daydreamer!! @raejae Thanks Raejae! I'm glad you liked it- makes me feel a little better about the shot. @steeler Thanks Howard- I'm glad you think so- wasn't so crazy about this one. @peterdegraaff lol Peter- you have figured me out! If it was a sunny day and I was driving on an open road... yup! you figured me out! @filsie65 Thanks Phil! It's called March Photo a Day and it was started by Amy Hughes. I'm not sure when she first posted it now, but it's probably in the archives under themes and competitions somewhere in the end of Feb. or beginning of March. There is a list of 31 things to shoot- one a day, hence the name. They are random items ranging from concepts like "Up" and "Funny" to everyday objects like "sunglasses" and "toy". @alia_801 Thanks Alia- your shot was far more entertaining though! @sgoodin1 Thank you Sara! Lots of things happening in my life right now. My elderly father not doing great, sister with some health struggles as well and no work for me, slow- REALLY slow work for hubby, so I think all those things came into play as well. I'm working through it with faith and friends- and the moral support of many great people here on 365! Thank you so much for your encouraging words- they mean the world to me! @summerfield Thanks Vikki! Thanks for the confidence boost and cheerleading. It's something I truly need and receive from 365! I almost posted a shot of me with the sunglasses- but you know how I feel about selfies!! Yes- the reflection in the upper left is the windows of the house which were featured on the March 8th shot. And you can see the chimney poking below the left lens of the glasses. Haha- if I felt like being lazy I could just flip the picture and use it again for tomorrow's shot- a corner of your home! @inertie Thank you Inertia! Spring has arrived here!! My first group of daffodils has bloomed- hooray!
@prttblues Thank you Bev! It's my car, but I just punched it up a bit to make a better contrast with the glasses. The gray day was dulling everything down, so it needed some help.
@kimmistephens Thanks Kimmi!
@netkonnexion Thanks Netkonnexion!
@bkbinthecity Thanks Brian!
@digitalrn Thanks Rick!
@httpgeffed Thanks Colleen!
Thank you all for the encouraging words. I really don't think this was one of my best shots, but I really was a bit uninspired today!
(What's the challenge you're doing?)
