I took two macro shots that I really liked today, so I'll post one tomorrow. I loved how clear most of the coins so that you can see the details on them.
Thank you all! There is a funny story behind these coins. I had gone to a "grab bag" birthday party. You bring a gift, put it in a pile, and get a number. When your number comes up you get to pick out another gift for yourself. But if someone else likes your gift they can choose it instead (and you someone else's as well). I am never good at taking something that someone likes away from them, but it never fails that I get something that I like and someone takes it- which is now why I no longer participate in these games! However, this was a while back and of course, it came down to one gift in the pile and the last person to go, took my gift from me! Usually when this happens, I get stuck with the most hideous gift in the pile, BUT, not this time! The gift I opened contained a small pouch with all these coins. The fellow who brought them traveled extensively and there are coins from all over the world. I loved them from the git-go and they've been on display in my home ever since- quite a few years now!
@summerfield Thanks Vikki! @prttblues Thanks Bev- this was shot in the early afternoon with natural lighting. I wanted to avoid any extra glare so there's no flash- just light coming in through the window.
the two coin on the left - one with the centre hole and the other with the rounded edges- look quite different than the rest of them. from reading the comments and your reply I think you got the jack pot here..that game of taken away is the one we play at Christmas where the ladies buy somthing for a lady and the same with the men.. we always have a great time playing it.
@bruni Thanks Bruni- most people do, but I've always gotten the short end of the stick. Thankfully, this time it worked out ok. But you wouldn't believe some of the tacky things I've gotten stuck with once my nice gift was taken away!
This is really pretty! And it shocked me when i saw our quarter, looking so familiar. It is odd to think that the our quarter looks odd to others, while their coins look normal.
@la_photographic Thanks Laura! I've taken these coins once before but that time it was in color and with different ones showing on the top. @espyetta Thanks MaryBeth- I know this site is great for getting us to think outside our box! @potsbypam Thanks Pam!
