This week's challenge is to compose shots with lines that will connect across the week. The initial suggestion was to have the line run horizontally through the picture and to make it connect with the pictures following. I'm afraid my camera cannot be adjusted to accomplish that so I have modified the goal in that by the end of the week I'm hoping my vertical lines will look like a mural that flows from one style of stripes to the next. I made up some "test" collages today with some of the items I plan to shoot and now I can't wait to take the shots each day! This is almost as bad as the year my sister Diana and I found our Christmas gifts hidden in the basement. We carefully opened each one and then put them back together (hopefully) without detection. But it was worse knowing we were getting some of the things we REALLY wanted and not being able to play with them than it was wondering if we would get the things we REALLY wanted! Now that I know what I want to shoot, I can't wait to take the shot and get it into the computer!!
You're doing a beautiful job on this one, Ann. Great lines here and textures too. I'll be looking forward to the finished product!! Our two daughters did the same thing one year ... opened their presents and rewrapped them "carefully!" I think that it kind of ruined their Christmas. No excitement on Christmas Day ... and they had to "fake" surprised faces. lol
@daisy Thanks Kathryn! I think it's going to look pretty interesting when it's all done. @mrssmith lol Carla. Well after we checked out Mom's closet and looked under her bed, we kind of figured they had to be in the basement somewhere! @lyoungs1023 Thanks Elizabeth! @cfitzgerald Thanks Courtney! They are blinds in my living room- although I didn't pick them out. They came with the house and I've never really liked them, until today when they made a nice shot for 365! @karenann Thank you Karenann! The funny thing about this was that we were so excited when Christmas finally came because now we really could play with all those presents! We tore through the wrapping paper just like any other Christmas!
This is Great Ann! I cant wait to see how it evolves!! Great Start...i seems to always interpret things in black and white...i could not even get creative on this one untilll i saw everyone ele's ...I need more imagination and maybe a little less structure! ..I just took it literally ..a line ..not even thinking out of the box..i hope it shapes up by the end of the week :)
@tklein Thanks Tina! Good to see you again! Or have I just been missing your posts? @kimmistephens Thanks Kimmi! @pjonas Thank you Patty! Yes, that's one of my childhood stories that I get a kick out because I learned a valuable lesson- "good things come to those who wait!" lol @groovygirlrn Thanks Sheri! @sarasdadandmom thanks Terry! @myautofocuslife Thanks Livia! @la_photographic Thank you Laura! @alia_801 Thanks Alia- it's a tough challenge for the ones who've chosen the horizontal line- but you know these types of things are good for you. Gets those creative juices flowing. I opted for a little easier approach- but only because I didn't think my camera would allow me to do that 1 to 1 ration you were talking about. @ellimae Thanks Ellen! Now, you should not knock the way you see things- literally or as an abstract- both are valid approaches to a challenge. I somewhat alternate back and forth on them so that I don't get stuck in a rut. But in the beginning stages one of two things can happen. I am either scrutinizing everything to see if it works with my concept or I'm pressing myself to take the shot quickly so that I don't over analyze my concept. I want a balance between the two so that I don't fall into one way of shooting. You can give yourself assignments that way so you keep your shots fresh. I think your week is going to turn out fine! You've settled on the single line through the center of your shot. It doesn't always have to be a rope, so keep your eyes open for things like telephone wires, cords and other single lines that are out there. I know you can do it! @nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole! I love your houses and feel you're going to have the same result- a fantastic week!
@netkonnexion Thanks Netkonnexion! @salza Thanks Sally! @prttblues Thanks Bev! @cimes1 Thanks Carole! Not too complicated-- just a matter of matching the sides of each photograph in the thumbnail version- i.e. making sure they're compatible and go together well. @wenbow Thanks Wendy!
@vposey Thanks Vickie- these are the vertical blinds on my living room window. Not my taste particularly but they came with the house and I haven't had the ability to replace them yet. But they're a neutral color so they go with everything.
@lyno Thanks Lyn! Don't worry about that- I've been so overwhelmed by all the commenting lately! I'm probably behind on commenting on your shots as well!
