Thanks Yvonne, Chrystal, Kerri and Henri! It worked out nicely to get this as our community has tennis courts. A few cars drove by while I was getting different shots. I can imagine what they thought of the woman walking around the courts with camera instead of a racket! lol
A fine exercise in tasteful composition I'd say; a career in graphic design beckons should you want it ;-) I was rooting for Serena as usual, with predictable results.
@beachradish Thank you Beachradish! I was looking for something unique. I also slightly overexposed it (thanks to your influence I might say after admiring the treatment in so many of your shots.) @summerfield Thanks Love- oh wait, that's the score- Thanks Vikki! @automaticslim Thanks Andy! Yes, in some ways I missed my calling- but back in my undergrad days, I did not know how much I liked photography (didn't get my first "real" camera unitl 2 years after graduating), and no one in the school I went to ever directed me in that direction. They didn't really have a full-fledged art program until 10 years after I graduated. As for Serena- I'm not crazy about the professionals playing in the Olympics in the high profile sports. They're already competing in Wimbeldon and such. Why not let the amateurs have a shot at something big? The Williams sisters sort of rub me the wrong way, but there's no question about their athletic ability and they work hard for the win. Anyway- enough of the soapbox! Thank you for your generous comments- they always make me smile.
This is excellent, Ann. You've done everything quite nicely from composition and clarity to POV. I thought table tennis, so I'm glad I'm commenting late. LOL
@anazad511 Thanks Ana! I used to play many many MANY!! years ago. I sometimes wish I'd kept it up. @sandier Thanks Sandie! Table tennis could work too! @pandorasecho Thanks Dixie- yes there's a part of me that actually enjoys that now!
Took about 20-25 shots to find the best composition. It was midday and the sun was quite bright. I also let the shot remain slightly overexposed as well so that it looked even brighter. In my original plans I was thinking of a shot of the net from ground level. But this one was so much better I stuck with it instead.
@httpgeffed Thanks Colleen!
