When I woke up this morning my world was in order, everything was just fine and my day was progressing as planned. But it was only an illusion! When I turned the key in the ignition, my car let me know that order was not going to be the word of the day. It stalled out- in the middle of the road- not once but three times! Amazingly I managed to get it back into my driveway. An hour later the tow truck arrived and carried my upstart of a chariot off to the mechanic, leaving all my plans for the day in utter chaos. CARS!!!! Sometimes you can't live with them and most of the time, you can't live without them!
@mhatch Thanks Mark! @maggiemae lol Maggie- I would never really want my car to look like this- but boy it sure reflects what's going on under the hood!
@peterdegraaff Totally messing around with the post processing. The colors are a mixture of "multiply" in Hypnotic, thermal with 70% of the former faded back in. I wanted it to look strange and messy. Thanks Peter! @kerristephens Thanks Kerri! @jackie8 Thanks Jackie! It will depend on what caused it. Two of the options are not so bad. The third one is- let's hope for one of the first two!
Oh no Ann something like that happened to Grace's car and it did upset not only her day but mine as well. I wrote a long explanation of what happened when I uploaded my fall picture..if you care to glance over it maybe it might make you feel better about what caused the problem with your car..Grace felt awful when she found out but better that than what she had first expected..here is the link. http://365project.org/bruni/365/2012-09-29
did you let all frustation out by giving your car a "color job". very interesting post processing. let us know what happened!
Love what you did with it. Hope it is nothing to serious. We don't have a car. Although at times I do miss having one but for the most part We get along fine without it
@bruni Thank you Bruni! I must have missed that post- my! That was one busy day! Thankfully the one thing I had promised to do today I was still able to do via the internet. But I missed swimming and it was really rainy so I feel like I didn't really accomplish what I'd planned- oh well- it definitely was not as bad as your day back in September! @httpgeffed My sister has taught first grade. It's a fun age. She's teaching Kindergarten now (an all-day class I think). @cdonohoue Thank you Cathy! Yes, we love this mechanic. Our car is in good hands! @sparkleplenty1 Thank you Joyce- I think it did! @bkbinthecity Thanks Brian. If I lived in a place where I didn't need a car, I would or could probably live without it, but not here. We are close to civilization, but not that close. You need a car here. @henrir lol Henri- thank you ! @digitalrn Thank you Rick. I was ok after about an hour or so- but I still felt like I didn't get much accomplished today. @pjonas Thank you Patty! lol I don't really need THAT kind of "interesting" thing to make my day more exciting. hehe
@daisy Thank you Kathryn. This is a minor glitch in the week. The last year I taught, the head gasket went and we couldn't afford to fix it right away, so I was without a car for 3 months then!
I should hear about my car today (Friday in the USA). We are hoping that it will not be a major repair. Dione if public transit were available to me, I would use it- but I live in an area that does not have it- although we have stores and restaurants near enough to shop and dine, it's more rural than urban. This area was originally farmland. Later on it became a place where people would vacation. It's quite a mish-mash of development right now due to its proximity to NYC and somewhat affordable housing.
Just love the processing here....It certainly fits your day!!!! Such a bother when they don't work....all i ask of mine is that it goes---every time and preferably forwards and backwards!!!!! fav for effort in adversity!!!!!
@acousticlover Thank you Anya! So far the mechanic has not figured out why it did what it did. I'm not sure if I'm glad about that or not! @filsie65 Thanks Phil! Looks like it is a mystery as to what was wrong. It's typical of them to act up for us and then do nothing for the mechanic!
@nadaa I heard from the mechanic today and he couldn't really figure out what caused it to stall like that. So we'll pick it up tomorrow and hopefully it won't do that again. This was a good way to vent!
must be fuel ejection thing. and i was disheartened that the design on the car was just a result of post-processing. i had really pictured you driving this thing like it is here. funky and fun! nice one, well, the photo, not what happened.
@summerfield Sorry Vikki! I would never pick out a design with these colors for a car! No, if I was going to get a "fancy" car, it'd be a black Mustang with just a little detailing. I'm not one to draw a lot of attention to myself. I think if you drove a car with these colors around, you'd be putting people in a bad mood and they'd be honking at you all the time!
Sorry for your car trouble! I love how you showed your frustration and the chaos with the edit! Haha I am seeing this after the fact so know you got our car back and order has been restored. Yay!
@espyetta Yes, thanks MaryBeth! It even took us to and from church this morning without a hitch. We are now attributing the problems to an extremely heavy rainfall throughout the night and a very heavy mist that morning. It wasn't until the engine heated up, that the vapors were able to evaporate- but by that time the car had already been towed to the mechanic. Oh well- all's well that ends well.
@maggiemae lol Maggie- I would never really want my car to look like this- but boy it sure reflects what's going on under the hood!
@kerristephens Thanks Kerri!
@jackie8 Thanks Jackie! It will depend on what caused it. Two of the options are not so bad. The third one is- let's hope for one of the first two!
sorry about the car

Now let's hope the mechanic can do half as good a job as you did.

Glad you had fun with this shot. Fun processing!
Fingers crossed that the car will be fine.
