I was sitting at my table at the church yard sale yesterday when a man came walking up with this BIG green "garbage" bag. "Are you having a yard sale here? " he asked. I told him yes at which point he opened the bag and handed me this HUGE teddy bear! I tried to tell him I didn't want it. I was trying to get rid of stuff, not collect it! But he insisted I keep it. I thought I'd put it in our church nursery, but it turns out the current nursery director wants the nursery to be as allergy free as possible, so no stuffed animals. )o: I'll try to find a home for him next Sunday. Until then he's occupying a shelf just outside the church office.
Thanks to all- I'm doing mass thank-yous tonight so that I can continue with comments on photos. Please know that each and every comment is read and I'm thankful for all of them.
Oh poor old bear.... hey, here's an idea I did more than once for the church/school.., think of say 100 teddy names and charge 50c / $1 a go, folk fill in their name next to their guess and the winner keeps the bear!! I have a spreadsheet already set up with 100 bear names & spaces if you'd like it! :)
@ellimae thanks Ellen! @sangwann thanks Dione! Poor teddy up on the shelf! @alia_801 thanks Alia! He is big and we were surprised he fit up there! @salza thanks Sally! I think there'll be a few little girls who will just LOVE him! @ulpiphotos thanks Ulpi! @filsie65 thanks Phil! That is a good idea- I'll see what happens at church. If he doesn't find a home voluntarily, I'll bring him home and auction him off with your name the bear idea at our community's clubhouse. @prttblues thanks Bev! Yes it is. If no one adopts him at church, I'll do that here in the community.
Awwww, what a great pose. You made him look so sad and forlorn....very well done! I love stuffed bears and hopes he finds a home. I would have probably taken him ;-)
@cimes1@vposey Thank you Carole and Vickie! Well, if he doesn't find a home at church on Sunday, he will come to Winona Lakes and becomre a prize at the next community party.
