We're battening down the hatches and preparing for the storm here which means we can't afford to be obtuse today! I wandered around the house looking for something to fit this "o" word and just couldn't find anything that tickled my fancy. I decided to post this shot (which I took yesterday at the supermarket while people were watching!) because not only was the color bright and sharp, but so was my focus!
I may be heading to Michigan tomorrow to by-pass the storm. My husband thinks we will be out of power for a few days and thought I'd be better off visiting my grandson. Who am I to argue with that brilliant reasoning? If so I may or may not be able to post- so if I disappear you'll know why!

Thank you Kerri!
Thank you Vikki! Just a quick update- we were supposed to go up to Batavia this coming weekend. At first it was going to be a four day deal, then 3, now it looks like no deal. However, we learned that Betsy and Isaac will be going to Batavia from MI. the week end of the 10th- totally throws my schedule off, but it looks like Jeff wants to go then so that we can see all 4 grandchildren at once. I am sorry to keep changing things on you- but this is what it's like with Jeff- always at the drop of a hat. It drives me crazy most of the time because I do much better when things are somewhat planned. I know you were planning on a short trip or get together with someone or something to that effect and I just wanted to tell you not to put that on hold just for me. On top of all that, we now have to prepare for this storm which may or may not take out the power etc. over the next few days- so welcome to my crazy world! I fairly certain the worst we will see from this storm is the rain and power outage- but our family in NJ will probably be hit worse than us. I'll let you know if anything permanent takes place with Batavia as soon as I know.
@olivetreeann - totally understand, ann. i was originally going to meet up with my bestie in vegas but not doing that now. i may go to chicago to visit my brother, but i might do that for the Christmas week now. do keep me apprised when you're definite about batavia. appreciate it.
Thanks Edie and Chris! Revised plans are that I'm staying home )o: for now. It's probably better that way. But now I'm hoping the power won't go out! What will I do without 365????
Stay safe, Ann. . .this was a hard one for me. . .should have thought of FOCUS! ;-> Thanks again for the challenge - it's been just as hard as I thought it would be and increases my respect for all of you who participate in so many of the challenges!
Absolutely amazing colour, love the pov and of course the focus! At least you think of taking the picture in the store, I would buy the bunch and take the shot at home! :-)
@maggiemae Thank you Maggie! I'm praying we won't lose our power for long! @lyno Thank you Lyn- oh I think you did great! I liked your twist on the words! @bobbyj Thanks Bobby! @salza Thanks Sally! I have such a tight budget- I would have loved to have bought them but it was better to take the shot there. @la_photographic Thank you Laura! @alia_801 Thanks Alia! So far so good, and I'm hoping we won't lose power! @sangwann Thanks Dione! @lesphoto Thanks Leslie- looks like I'll be staying home after all )o: So now I'm hoping the power won't go out here. @cimes1 Thanks Carole! We'll get the winds and rain but hopefully no power loss. There might be a little flooding too- from all the rain.
Thanks to one and all for the well-wishes. We are outside of the major thrust of the storm but we could still lose power for a few days depending on what happens where the storm hits. So I'm hoping we won't lose the power and that people have been forewarned enough that all will stay safe! It was decided that I'll stay home and weather out the storm here. boo-hoo! I was really hoping for an unexpected trip to see Isaac! But better safe than sorry as they say!
I've been watching the news and progress of the hurricaine... it looks treacherous. Hope you are all ok that side of the Atlantic. Beautiful crop to show off the stunning centre.
Thank you Henri, Jackie and Ruth! So far we're safe and sound. Only two blips in the power so far, but the main portion of the storm is set to hit late afternoon. I hope that's all we'll have to deal with over the next few days, but we're prepared for worse. Thanks for all your prayers and positive thoughts! I will keep everyone posted for as long as I can!
Great shot! Perfect focus and it is quite sharp and very red and very pretty. I hope you stayed safe from the storm! We lost power while I was in the middle of commenting on photos, which is why I'm just getting to these! Sorry for my delay! Nice shot, well done, Ann!
@daisy Thank you Kathryn! And thank you so much for the fav! Thanks for thinking of me. It was a bit of a challenge to go so many days without 365!! @prttblues Thank you Bev! I thought of you during the storm and was hoping that you wouldn't have the same troubles as the last storm. Sounds like you had a similar situation but maybe not as much destruction? @wenbow Thanks Wendy!
So that's were you have been. Safe and sound with that awesome reasoning for sure!! Grand babies are the best! lol I love the color of this. Good for you shooting in front of people. I always think about my camera when I go by the flowers, cause they are so pretty. I've yet to take a shot. I'll have to just put my camera on my groceries list lol :-)
@vposey Thanks Vickie- well I didn't get to go to Michigan after all. My husband and son decided it might be too dangerous to drive in the storm. Seems Christopher has forgotten I drove him to a soccer tournament in a hurricane once before! lol I was out of commission due to no power, but now it's back on and life is settling down.
