I am going to try the "edit with Picmonkey" feature today. As an ace member I'm supposed to be able to access the premium features on the site, so we'll see...
...and it did! If you have an ace account this will work for you too. Upload your picture to the day you wanted it posted. Then select "Edit with Picmonkey" in the sidebar on the right. 365 will take you to Picmonkey where you can edit to your heart's content. Then save your picture and 365 will post the edited version for you. The only drawback I can see is that this version is not saved in my computer, but, there might be a way to do that too- I just don't know it yet. If you don't have an ace account, you can still edit in Picmonkey from here, but I don't know if the premium features will be available to you. Give it a try!
@kerristephens Thanks Kerri! @ididntdoit87 Thanks Hillary- do you have an ace account here? It should work if you do. If you're ace and it isn't working, you should notify Ross. @pandorasecho Thanks Dixie- I first applied the Dauggertype (Shiro) effect on this shot and painted back in the original colors on a few spots for some gold and red accents. I then applied the film effect on top of that which really brought out the feel of the material. Lastly, I applied the frame, choosing one of the Sketchedy frames without the background and changing the color to chocolate brown to go with the s/p shakers. But I think it's the film grain that really brought out the texture. @kerristephens Thank you again Kerri! @tanja_1211 Thanks Tanja- oh, it's worth every penny! And is so helpful to the site. It's nice having the extra albums if you want to use them, the ability to change and edit pictures without losing comments, and now the added bonus of premium features on Picmonkey without having to pay for them. I say, "Go for it!!"
@glendq Thanks Glendq! I took these at a wedding reception. The gold tops really looked great against the red tablecloth. I've given myself a personal challenge to explore different ways of processing the same shot for one week in order to explore different ways the picture can be presented. Glad you like them and have fun shooting yours!
@digitalrn Thanks Rick- I don't remember where I saw it posted but I was really bothered when Picmonkey decided to charge for the majority of their features. I don't think it was a smart move (especially now since Picnik returned as Ribbet) but being able to get in there through 365 is nice. I don't think you can do the collages this way, but at least you can use all the other effects on individual pictures.
@automaticslim Thanks Andy- me too. @henrir Thanks Henri! I'm planning to change the picture each week. But this one has been good to work with. @daisy Thanks Kathryn! @mrssmith Thanks Carla- you can try it right from 365 now. It's quite easy. @bkbinthecity Thank you Brian!
Thank you Sheri!
Thank you Carole! It must have been you that I heard that from- I couldn't remember where I'd seen it- but glad to know it works. There are one or two effects in Picmonkey the others don't have (the Dauggertype which I used on this is one), so it's good to know they're still accessible.
Thanks Chris!
@summerfield Yes, that's the basic idea. It was supposed to line up across the calendar page, but I figured something wrong when I did the first week and they're not lining up correctly right now. I'll have to figure something out to get it back on track. @la_photographic Thanks Laura!
Thanks for the tip Ann, I didn't realise that I could access the premium features by editing through here. It is true that you do learn something new everyday.
@edie Thanks Edie! I remember that there was a way to download pictures from here because I've done it when I've done the WWYD challenges. But for the life of me, I can't seem to remember the steps! So there must be a way. In the meantime, I recreated this version in Ribbet, but it doesn't have the same frame and I couldn't replicate the sepia color or the red and gold highlights exactly so I don't like it as much as this one. Let me know if you come up with anything! In the meantime, I'm waiting and watching for the next WWYD challenge to see if they post the "how to transfer this picture" instructions again!
@edie Thanks Edie! That was it- writing myself a note now so the next time I forget it will be stuck up on the wall for reference! @vposey Thanks Vickie!
