I have often heard people say, "What a difference a day makes" and thought it to be true. But today I learned that even seven hours can make a difference in the life of a daffodil. The top picture was taken at 10 AM and the bottom picture was taken at 5 PM. I can't believe how quickly they opened up!
that's the reason I love gerdening.. in most cases you have to wait a very long time to see the result of your labor.. but a little change in the weather.. sone watering.. a bit of interest and they bloom to reward you.. beautiful details in the petals the frilly borders are so pretty..
@anazad511 Thank you Ana! @jplovescotton Thank you Janice! @taffy Thank you Taffy! @vankrey Thank you Michael! Hang in there- Spring is coming! @inertie Thank you Pinar! I am a very lazy gardener which is why I like anything that grows from bulbs or tubers. I can plant them and then nature takes over! @filsie65 Thank you Phil! I still have some leaves to rake out in one bed- but I don't like our rake. The handle is broken half way down so it's awkward to hold. Excuses, excuses! @alia_801 Thank you Alia! @jesperani Thank you Jennifer! @sangwann Thank you Dione! @pandorasecho Thank you Dixie! You and me both!! @edie Thanks Edie! No, it could probably be tagged at any time, but it's too late for the weekly challenge. Actually I wasn't really thinking diptych when I put it together- I was thinking collage. @dakotaburns Thank you Donald! Well, thankfully digital photos never fade away and you can pull them up and look at them any time!
@prttblues Thanks Bev! I really thought when I saw them in the morning that I'd be shooting the blossoms today- but luckily I noticed them opened yesterday!
everything in here has been postponed, especially when you look at the plants. the buds are the same as two weeks ago, they've been stunted because of the weather. you remember how advance the magnolias were last year? this year, april is almost halfway through and nothing's bloomed around here.
@summerfield I thought we would never see Spring- and then suddenly it arrived! And even though the temps are cooler tonight because of a damp rain, the Spring peepers are still chirping away in the pond. So, it's here, it's really here!
