Mirror, mirror, on the ground,
You turn my whole world upside down.
The neighbor's driveway has a bit of a drainage problem, but that's ok with me! I was looking for a good puddle today and liked the way this one was playing a sneaky game of peek-a-boo with the car.
@kerristephens Thanks Kerri! @dmariewms Thanks Marie! I was looking for a different way to take one of these shots and this is what I saw. Yes, I guess this is shallow, but it can be much much larger after a big rainstorm.
@allie912 Thank you Allison! Believe it or not, it was just a little ditty that came to me as I was sorting through some papers this afternoon. @summerfield Thank you Vikki! I didn't want to use the typical puddle shot. I don't think it will make the vote but I'm pleased with it.
@digitalrn Thanks Rick! We have no worries as our home is at the top of our mountain. Everybody is visibly lower than we are. Poor neighbors- they've tried filling this in several times, but it keeps coming back. I think it's a drainage problem- the water has no way to seep into the soil there. @alia_801 Thanks Alia! @roddy Thanks Suze! I really wanted to take a puddle shot unlike the typical puddle shot. This is what I came up with! @sangwann Thanks Dione! @nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole! yes- it sure sharpens the ability to see the unusual!
I expect original from you, and more often than not that is what you give us. I'm not seeing anything but a road here but I'm trying to see it on my iPod. I'll look again when I can see it large
@eniaral Thank you Laraine! @pflaume Thank you Lisa! @paulavdmerwe Thank you Paula! @jplovescotton Thank you Janice! I'll have to look at it that way- I hadn't thought of looking at it large! @henrir Thank you Henri! @demmie Thank you Demmie! @daisy Thank you Kathryn!
@pandorasecho Thank you Dixie! It's funny that sometimes you take the picture and you think everyone will see how simple it is and the opposite happens. I really thought the reaction to this shot would be the typical- nice shot. So here is what you're looking at- the lowest section of the picture are pebbles and grit used during the winter snow storms along the edge of the road and in my driveway. The road is next with the yellow line at its center, and finally the uppermost section is the puddle on my neighbor's driveway with the reflection of their car in it. So you are viewing the whole picture as if you were standing in my driveway looking at the neighbor's driveway across the street. What is probably throwing you off is the way I "cropped the shot". I kept the camera tight and low- not allowing even the tires of the reflected car to be showing. By doing that I've removed what might become a reference point for your eyes. Did it help when you looked at it large?
@olivetreeann I'd love to see it large but my husband is being a gamer and has not given up the computer today. Grrr. But anyway. I see now. I thought the reflection of the back of the car and license plate was a concrete drive with a suitcase sitting on it.
