I was in High School when I received this beautiful dish as a gift from a friend. Her High School chorus had traveled to the country where this was made to participate in a choral exchange program. Any guesses as to where she traveled?
Nice shot, Ann! What a lovely dish! That's so cool you still have it!! I am going guess Mexico, Spain, Argentina, Brazil and Peru. One has to be right!
Thanks to everyone for guessing and leaving a comment! This may surprise you but this dish came from a much colder climate than those you've guessed! It's from Russia! There is some writing on a label on the back, but I'm not sure what it means and some of it has been worn off with time. Some of the words read: Ceramica Horezu, Farfuri, and Marimea. I'm not sure if these words have been transliterated for tourists because what little I do know of the Cyrillic alphabet doesn't seem to match with these letters. But I know that's where she bought it and yes, it's been a lovely piece to have all these years.
@summerfield Thank you Vikki! I am not really thinking that anyone will actually get them. I just didn't feel like dragging out a ton of travel pictures to upload for location shots, so this seemed to be the easier way of traveling without actually going anywhere!
