I spent some time enjoying the fall colors today, but this little blossom fit right into the Think Pink theme so the other pictures from today will have to wait. I decided it was an appropriate tribute to a very good friend who lost her battle with cancer four years ago.
@anazad511 Thank you Ana- and thank you for the fav! @fullcircle Thank you Cindy! I don't think so. I want to say it's a Sweet Pea. I'll have to look it up in my wildflower book tomorrow. I love this new camera- the zoom is great, the in-camera effects are great, and the focus is great too!
@digitalrn Thank you Rick! Yes, this was a tough one from the start- stage 4 uterine cancer. She'd been feeling poorly but thought it was a stomach flu. When they finally figured it out, they had to take a very aggressive approach but she did go into remission for a short time. But when it came back it was BAD. However, her faith never waivered and I think she had a tremendous impact on other patients who were in treatment at the same time she was. She was only 33.

Thank you so much Margaret, Bev, Vicki and Laur. I'm glad you liked the shot and had such kind things to say on behalf of Heather. It really is quite amazing the amount of people who have been touched by cancer. I am glad many strides have been made against this disease, but aIso know there is a long way to go still.
