When God Dips His Paint Brush by olivetreeann

When God Dips His Paint Brush

When God dips His paintbrush,
He paints the leaves in red,
He colors some in orange and gold,
To lay upon Earth's bed.

He hangs the stars like diamonds,
Across the chilly night,
And whispers to the Robins,
"It's time, take wing, and fly!"

And just before the winter,
Puts bears and trees to rest,
He brings about the harvest,
And gives us nature's best.

So when you see the colors,
Of Autumn coat the ground,
Remember it's God's paint brush,
That put them all around.

This is beautiful and the poem sets it off superbly. I love poetry and my rather grey picture of swans flying had a favourite poem with it!

My most heartfelt thanks to all of you!! I thank you for the lovely compliments, the favs and for all around being the best followers a gal could have! Yes, I did write the poem. I came back from my walk and saw these leaves and that phrase came in my head so I rushed to the car and dug out a pen and a clean napkin we'd stuck in the glove compartment and the poem just flowed out. I'll have to amend my commentary so that it's officially listed as mine.

And a special thanks to all who fav'd it. I see it made the trending page thanks to you!

@bruni Thank you Bruni! I always appreciate comments and favs- no matter when they come!
@skstein Thank you Sandy! I am not really a poet. When they come to me I write them down, but I can't think them up on purpose or work long at one. I have a friend who is a poetess and it amazes me how she crafts a poem over several months!
