The cold has descended upon us with a vengeance and I know it's going to stay this time. Not only are my joints telling me this is so, but the Juncos have arrived.
This could be a little sharper, but as far as a hand-held shot goes, it's not too bad!
I like how his black eyes are so far apart and blend in with the feathers. Also the processing is really great, as is the frame. I really like the tone of yellow too.
My thanks to all! For those of you who commented on the background- it's actually the rung and a space between the next rung on the railing on my deck. The zoom is so tight on this shot it has completely erased any detail in the background. I really liked how that happened although I had not really planned it.
Nice shot, Ann. I like Dark-eyed Juncos. My favorite though is the Eastern Phoebe. Those are so cute. I have only seen the Dark-eyed Juncos in cooler temperature when I first moved in here. Does that mean I should start looking for them out back again? Fav
@prttblues Thank you Bev! And thank you for the fav too! They are a winter bird for me- usually arriving late October, early November, so they're right on time this year. I would think they'd be up in your area too, so be on the look out for them. They are ground feeders. @mhatch Thank you Mark!
