Rose Petal by olivetreeann

Rose Petal

The first week of Flash of Red February has come to a close and it seemed to go so quickly! I wanted a subject that was in itself simple today (rather than simplifying something in a shot) so I used a rose petal from the bouquet I'd bought to do some shots for my niece Katie last week. As you can see, there's not much life left in them! But once converted to black and white, this yellow rose petal was no longer simple. I couldn't believe all the texture and nuances the black and white brings out. So now it's onward to week #2. If you're interested in joining in, feel free! You don't have to own the book. You can get an overview of the reading here:
