I discovered this picture in a frame that was for sale at my friend's yard sale. We weren't sure how it ended up in a box of discarded frames, but we thought maybe it had been part of some items her husband bought at an auction. It was such a beautiful picture I couldn't stand the thought of someone throwing it out. So I asked if I could take it out of the frame and was given the o.k. We were surprised to see the bride's name and the date of her wedding on the back of the photo (July 14, 1973). I thought I'd find one of those websites where you can post found pictures and see if anyone knows who they are, but then I thought, why not send a copy into the local paper and see if there are any relatives in the area? The picture had been sitting on the dining room table all day and at one point, Jeff walked by and took note of the expert photography. Next thing I know, he's calling out from the other room, "I found our bride!" Our bride? I thought that was so nice!! It turns out that she is not from this area but someone in the wedding party was. We'll have to do a little more digging, but now it has become a mission! So Nancy Shupp Zukowski, if you're out there, I have a picture I want to send you!
well, isn't that interesting? i hope you do find her. she might have divorced for all we know, but even then hopefully it's not a bad one and maybe her issues would be interested in getting a copy of this.
isn't it interesting that we could instantly attach some kind of intrinsic value on a photograph, especially the old ones? i have always loved old photographs ever since, but it's always a pleasure to see other people's work as well as their interesting subjects. nice find, ann.

Thank you all for the thoughtful comments! Yes, I really hope I find her or someone related to her. Thank you so much for the fav Maggie! The original is quite beautiful and what amazes me is that this is not digital! All the "processing" was done in a dark room. Amazing.
Wonderful story and photo -- keep on with the follow through. You might also try the dreaded Facebook since you have her name. I found my 1960-61 college roommate through FB after having lost touch with her for 50 years, though I am not a fan of FB and rarely go on it.
Love the story Ann. Some Sherlock Holmes investigations are required here. Hope she turns up and you could take some real-time pictures of her to show us. She looks gorgeous in her wedding dress. Great shot, too.
Thanks to all on your encouragement and positive thoughts for my adventure! One cool thing that is already in effect, if you google her name the link to this picture pops up! I have also learned of her parents' names, the groom's parents' names and where she worked as a teacher for many years. Next step is to post her on facebook as a few of you suggested. I'm not sure how I'll do this, but I think if I could see a phone books of the places connected to her, I might be able to determine if she's still living in that area and contact one of those local papers as well. Thanks again for all the well-wishes!
That is very nice of you! Might be looking for a needle in a haystack. I lost my grandmothers ring in Scotland at the Edinburgh castle. (2008) I once also thought of searching for it.....It had the engraving "Vergeet mijn niet" in dutch on it.
Thank you Lisa, Janice, Jen and Sylvia! I have posted it on fb now and am getting some feedback there- a few people reposted it and one of my former students actually found a phone number for her. Now I just have to get the nerve up to do a cold call. I am not always good at that! But I will eventually round up my courage and give it a try.

Mustering up the courage for a cold call sometime this week.
