I am willing myself at the moment NOT to use archive shots even though I've got quite a few I'd like to post! So, before the day became too hot I wandered out into the back yard in search of something to photograph. Lo and behold, I found this curious thing in a pile of leaves. I have no idea where it came from! But I'm glad I found it.
Wonderful use of processing to bring out shape and texture. It's hard not to post archived ones -- I too struggle to go out on a shoot when I have photos I'd like to work with already in hand.
This is so intriguing Ann. You have captured it beautifully. Looks like the sort of thing you might find washed up on a beach. I'm guessing you don't have the sea in your garden!!
@allie912 Thank you Allison! I hear you on that but I have no clue as to what it is/was. @digitalrn Thanks Rick- no it's wood. @moviegal1 Thank you Kerri! @sailingmusic Thank you Myrna! It seemed to fit! @maggiemae Thank you Maggie! I would be inclined to agree however, the hole is not very large and it goes through to the other side. The hole is too small for a dowel, but could have possibly had a small rope going through it. But I really have no idea what it is! @photographycrazy Thanks Bill! @lbingle365 Thanks Lisa! It fits nicely in the palm of your hand. Much smaller than a baseball though. @timewalker Thank you Pam! @taffy Thank you Taffy! Almost used another one today- but then remembered I hadn't fiddled around with WWYD yet! @bkbinthecity Thanks Brian! @aikimomm Thanks Phoebe! My personal standard is to do more daily than archived however sometimes when I get busy I fall into the "oh I'll just pull something out of the archives" rut! @salza Thanks Sally! Squirrels or a beaver! @sdutoit Thanks Sylvia! @thistle Thank you Joyce! No, no seas in any of my gardens, but wouldn't it be lovely to be near one! @quietpurplehaze Thank you Hazel! @leananiemand Thank Leana! I have no idea where it came from or what is was when it was there- but it sure is fun to try and figure it out! @sangwann Thank you Dione! No, it wouldn't work as a door-knob. It's not that big- the close-up is deceiving. @susale Thank you Suse! I think the thing in the cage is playing with your perception! hehehe @wordsmith Thank you Teresa! @pyrrhula Thank you Pyrrhula! Believe it or not the background is the garden swing and some trees in my backyard! @dsp2 Thank you DS! You certainly need your imagination for this one because there absolutely no clues as to what it really is!
Thank you all for your overwhelmingly positive response to my little "odd ball". I was just showing the picture to Jeff and even he is baffled!
Thank you Tammy, Graham and DS for your generous favs!
