Ballet Slippers by olivetreeann

Ballet Slippers

From our photo shoot at Pocono Photo Club the other night.
The wear shows how hard it must be on the ballerina's feet. Beautifully composed.

Those ballet shoes have been worked hard! I really like the simple composition. It does look like 'first position'

Gosh those are very hard working ballet shoes. Great idea and composition
August 24th, 2015
Those shoes have been well used. Great composition!

I agree with Anja. They really have been overused. My granddaughter attended ballet lessons for several years but hers always looked new. Great composition here.

FAV for the simplicity of composition and the story it tells!

Interesting perspective

Lovely monochrome ...

they look so uncomfortable......the one time I was glad I didn't have a delicate physique - no ballet lessons for me hahahahaha

@taffy @salza @thistle @stiggle @sangwann @grammyn @digitalrn @pdulis @annied @bkbinthecity @radiogirl

Thank you Taffy, Sally, Joyce, Anja, Dione, Katy, Rick, Peter, Annie, Brian and Kathy!

Thank you for the fav Katy!

And thank you all for the views and comments. Yes, well-worn, but I'm pretty sure there's still plenty of life left in them, otherwise I'm sure they'd be replaced. I don't think Danielle uses them for performing though- just modeling for our club.

@annied Me neither Annie! I did have a year or so of ballet as a little girl- but only with the ballet slippers and I was NOT good at all- but I loved the tutus!

@pdulis Thank you so much for the fav Peter!

Beautiful shot, composition, and b&w

I like it. The b&w brings out the textures and the detail I think.

Those look like well worn pointe shoes! Great textures :)
August 25th, 2015
Lovely.

So sweet! I really like the distressed textures, and the holes in the shoes testify to the dancer's dedication. The border is so expertly rendered around the dancer's legs, too. Fav!

@juliac Thank you Julia!
@prttblues Thank you Bev!
@alia_801 Thank you Alia! I was hoping you would see the tag and answer my question as I couldn't remember! What position is it?
@skstein Thank you Sandy!
@gratefulness Thank you Sandi! The actual back-drop was just a plain black but it didn't do the shoes justice. So I pulled out a texture and applied it to give the overall shot some life.

@olivetreeann It turned out very nice! :)
August 26th, 2015
Nicely composed and, of course, processed!
