I bought myself a Valentines Day present- a little point and shoot that's easy to carry around as my T3i and Powershot are a little big for that. I'm discovering it has quite the assortment of settings. The black and white setting has a lot of contrast and it really pulls out the textures of the glass in the window. This was an experiment and I left it sooc (except for a minor crop).
I like the textures and shapes in the photo as well. I picked up a Canon G-16 for the very reason you mention in your comments. It is small enough to carry around ( especially for street photography ) and it is very versatile. It even shoots RAW.
Wow! That is indeed a lot of detail and contrast for a point and shoot! I don't think I could achieve this with my big Canon AND post processing combined. Great job!
@radiogirl Thanks Kathy! It's great for those quick shots that come up when you don't have the "good camera" with you. I can't always carry them with me, so it's nice having this one.
