I will be participating in the Half and Half Challenge (at least for this week!) which involves lots of vertical lines and a square format. I know I've got plenty of shots in my archives that will fit the format if I can't go out in search of them. This shot was taken on April 15th at my favorite old barn, but it was perfect for starting out the month- half rust and half wood.
Great contrast between the two halves. You would need a good eye to see this and consider it a good photo opportunity. Well done. Thanks for your well wishes.
Thank you so much everyone! I've been combing the archives today and also found a few around the house- so I'm off to a good start for completing the month. We'll see...!
@nicolecampbell Most of the examples on line appeared to be in the square format and actually I think it helps with the compositional aspect of the verticals being evenly matched.
@olivetreeann
Just reading the other comments and yours, I agree that the square format helps with the balance, I've tried a couple of mine in rectangular and they don't have the same punch. Some of mine are from the archives too - looking forward to seeing more of yours
