Technique Challenge 87

The technique challenge this time around is composing a shot with an obstructed view. I took this shot before I knew what the challenge was. I was interested to see how setting the focus on a near object contrasted to setting the focus on a far object (that is I was playing with my dof). The result was that I found the long range focus to be far more interesting with this composition. I liked the repetitive shape/lines of the stones and interplay of positive and negative space too.

I think you nailed the challenge. I read once that focus like this created an interesting compositional element
