It's hard to believe but Leigh turned 13 last month. We asked her what she would like to do to celebrate her entrance into the teen years and she said she wanted to go to "Six Senses Escape Room". We'd never heard of this so we looked it up on line and learned that an escape room is a combination of puzzles and locks that when assembled correctly enable you to "escape" the room you're "locked" in. (Of course for fire safety reasons you are not actually locked in there but it feels like you are!) The story line for our room involved a genie's lamp and several clever clues we had to decipher in order to find the key to unlock the door. We had a lot of fun and even though we didn't figure out all of the puzzles in time, the folks who run the business gave us lots of extra hints and allowed us to stay until we figured out the final clue to unlock the "front" door. It was such a creative and clever way to celebrate her big day so I decided to piece together a shot of Leigh and the Genie's lamp to remember our fun time together.
