The Art IN Seeing 1

It has probably been said a million times or more but photographers not only have a unique way of seeing things but they see unique things! How many times have you been walking along with your camera and stopped to take a picture when someone said, "What are you taking a picture of now?!" The problem is that not every one sees this way. But it's what makes us photographers the individuals that we are. It's not just the artist in us; it's the art IN the way we see things which causes us to stop and take a picture. We'd just as soon shut it off as we'd be able to stop breathing.

Saturday- The Art IN Seeing Series will continue next week...
Nicely done – it is good to see the photographer at work

Seeing the photo is definitely an art form, and there is no better satisfaction than when the photo comes out as you'd imagined it. Cool image.

I’m often asked what I’m taking a photo of. Yesterday my granddaughter ran to her mother laughing her head off “Grandma is taking a photo of a tree”

I am always being asked that question too!
This is a fun image.
@kjarn That made me laugh!

@jamibann couldn't agree more, mostly my camera sees it differently to me!! I fear camera the better artiste?!
@kjarn oh that's so funny!!!

@olivetreeann you are a real photographic artist, provide inspiration to me, and others, but an empty loo roll ?? Just wondering at the symbolism. ;)

I know that most of my photography friends talk about how they see more now they are taking pictures. Sometimes when you answer their question the people go "Wow that is beautiful" and other times they look at you like you have four heads.

When on a family vacay years ago, my dad was constantly "complaining" about all the pictures I was taking. "Just what is so interesting about all these things?" When the vacation was done and I was sending out the 100's of images for everyone to choose from, he kept the entire set. I guess a photographer's job could be to show people the beauty or intrigue they might otherwise miss, to open their eyes as well as our own.

Perfect and I so agree with your story.

Great capture and very true narrative.
Don't forget when you press click, at the back of your mind you are working out if its good enough for 365 or maybe you should try a different angle.
That is why I love 365, taught me to take photos daily - that is an excellent way to improve

Great shot and image to explain what amazing things you envisage when you have your camera in your hand and on the look out for a photo opportunity.
November 8th, 2020
Cool shot and I really liked and agree with your explanation.

Wonderful sentiment, and quite true! That's almost why photography is sort of a solo hobby.

I was out on a photo walk with my camera club today and the trail was a little rougher than I expected. i did well but I'm tired! I will return to catch up with you tomorrow. Thanks for all your views and great responses!

@kjarn I LOVE!!! that story!

I think that's what makes a photo walk with a group so interesting. When the results are displayed, everyone's photos are different.
