Thanks to everyone! You should have seen me trying to catch this shot without the gentleman noticing me pointing my camera at him! But thankfully he was more engrossed with his sandwich than his surroundings.
As Diana suspected this shot is seconds before a healthy chunk of that sandwich got a big slobbery lick of the tongue as well as the man's hands- a gesture of thanks I believe! After that the man took a rather healthy bite himself- no problem mixing human or doggie food here Joan!- and although I would not do that, their apparent bond was absolutely endearing. The dog was really adorable- even looking my way as to say, "Hey lady, if you have anything you'd like to contribute to my breakfast, feel free!"
