This model of an Orthodox Church was in a little museum run by the Chesapeake City's historical society. I forgot to photograph the card which described it so unfortunately, I don't remember the significance of it.
I'm starting to back-fill January. No need to comment.
@ludwigsdiana Thank you Diana! It was so old I thought it deserved an antique treatment.
@maggiemae Thank you Maggie- yes some people refer to this as Greek Orthodox. But when I was in Greece, our tour guide pointed out (more than once!) that it was not Greek since Russia had this branch of Christendom as well as many other countries around the world. "It's Orthodox- simply Orthodox" she insisted. (o: Of course we obliged and changed our way of naming these beautiful structures to "Orthodox".
@randystreat This little model was not large at all. The roof material (both on the slanted part and on the tower and dome) was made out of pine cone "petals"!
