Mountain Chorus Frog by olivetreeann

Mountain Chorus Frog

I hear a chorus of them every night along with the Spring Peepers. I love the sound of them!

Interesting fact about these fellows- they are one of the few frogs around here who can survive without water as long as they're near moist woodsy earth and we've got plenty of that these days!
I think there are some frogs around here. I hear them but haven't seen them. I like the texture and pattern of its skin. Nice close up.

@amyk Thanks Amy- I was poking around my pots that haven't gotten flowers yet and he just leapt right out of one onto one of the deck chairs! I don't know who was more startled- him or me! I know he looks rather large here, but in reality he is no larger than your thumb from the knuckle to the end.

A lovely frog and capture. I used to have a lot in the garden when we had a pond but now it is filled in I very rarely see one.

@wendyfrost @vesna0210

Thank you Wendy- I was surprised to learn that this variety didn't necessarily need a pond.

Thank you Vesna!
