Painting Buster

The effect options on Befunky.com are fun to play with, but they totally erase the fact that you took a photo in my opinion, so I don't think I'd use them for anything but fun. However, I really did like the way this one turned out, so it was ok to put it in the second album just for show.
Great capture! I like the processing

I like the effects here. There is always a balance in processing knowing when to stop and say "enough".

@kerristephens Thanks Kerri! This one is called Oil Painting, hence the title.
@juleswoome Thanks Julie- you're right. And I like fiddling with all these crazy effects because they're just fun to play with. This one was called Oil Painting and I just loved what it did to the bale of hay in the doorway and the grass on the ground. But it doesn't look like a photo anymore, and I don't know if you could really get this kind of shot from a camera, or if you were working in a darkroom get the same results, so it's not in the 365 album for that reason. But I like it very much artistically speaking- especially the earthtones.

Fun and funky! Was the original not what you'd hoped? It looks like it was a good shot with a lot of character.

Another site I need to visit...so much to look at so little time. Nice haybale!

@beachradish Thanks Beachradish- no, it was a good shot, I was just playing around with the processing and liked the way this looked. If you'd like to see the same barn without any frills, a similar shot is posted on Feb. 21 for the film challenge.
@michaelelliott Thanks Michael!
@httpgeffed Thanks Colleen! It's pretty easy to work with too.

Lovely shot. Love the processing.

It does look cool, but I agree with you about wanting my photos to look like photos.

@sangwann Thanks Dione! I did like this one, even though when I look at it now it doesn't look like a photograph anymore.
@dmariewms Thanks Marie! Yes, I do like the way this turned out, but it has lost its photographic qualities. As much as I like it, I'm going to try not to use it on a regular basis!
