Clearing out yet another shot from my unposted archives. I couldn't figure out what kind of beetle this was. My fear was that it was a Japanese beetle. Many of my plant leaves seem to have become dinner for some type of bug this year. But this one didn't have the characteristic iridescence of the Japanese Beetle. It was a duller brown. Does anybody have an idea of what this might be?
Oh, and just in case you're wondering- the title means Unidentified Flying Bug.
Thank you Carla, Allison, Beachradish, Kerri, Ulpi, Sally, Lyn, Davide, Vikki, Paula, Wendy and Terry!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you one and all! Poor fellow he's still unidentified (I don't think we have the same bugs in the northern hemisphere as you do Sally- but I could be wrong not being a bug expert), but I'm glad you all liked the shot! My apologies for this mass thank you- but I get them done so much quicker this way!!
The UFB appears to be some kind of beetle but I most definitely am not a bug expert and need to look everything up on google when it comes to bugs ;-) Pretty flower and great focus. Love this shot!
@sangwann Thanks Dione! @cimes1 Thanks Carole! I couldn't figure out from the pictures in my Audubon Insect book what it was. It didn't match any of the pictures. I guess it will remain a mystery unless I want to get a print and take it to the environmental center.
Creepy bug!!! I try to stay away from anything I can't identify. It makes it so much easier! Plus, you don't know if it will fly and if it stings or bites! :)
