It seemed appropriate since today's Just 4 August word/phrase goes with such a happy song, that the picture for the day be happy too. I was reading about lighting in my photography book as well which prompted me to pick up the camera and take some more shots of the sunflowers on my table. I decided to take advantage of the light directly overhead, hoping it would provided some dramatic lighting. You may think I rotated this shot, but I did not. The picture was taken at an unusual angle- directly underneath the petals looking up toward the overhead light. I added in some bokeh and enriched the colors to make the shot all the more cheerier. Sunflowers truly are a dash of sunshine in your home!
@maggiemae Thanks Maggie! Sunflowers come in a number of sizes. The large and tall ones are gorgeous, but I don't think I'd be able to find anything in my little home that would house them appropriately- hehe! So these are a smaller version that I bought from the Vegetable lady last Saturday.
@bkbinthecity Thanks Brian- an experiment that worked! @twr Thanks Timothy! @kerristephens Thanks Kerri! @taffy Thank you Taffy! @photo_mum Thank you Pauline! @yaorenliu Thanks Yao! It's good to look at things from a new and different angle every now and then! @digitalrn Thanks Rick! Hadn't thought about what else it might look like. That's interesting that you saw a tomato. @cimes1 Thanks Carole! I was just following the word for the day. @daisy Thanks Kathryn!
@prttblues Thank you Bev! I hope you're alright- I've been checking your page and enjoying the moon but since you haven't posted for a day or two, I'm hoping your back is not bothering you or some other health issue.
