The manse has been undergoing a face lift. This past week the floors were sanded and coated with polyurethane to bring out their natural color. The walls have been painted and now it's just a matter rehanging all the pictures and such. I was about to leave after our Sunday school class today and the reflection of the floor in this mirror caught my eye. I liked the play of the horizontal and vertical lines against each other.
@allie912 Thank you Allison! @eudora Thank you Diane! I'm not sure but I think it was built around the same time as the church- 1825. @digitalrn Thanks Rick! @bkbinthecity Thanks Brian!
The floors look great. I added just a little processing to this shot to highlight the grain in the wood.
@nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole! I'll try to remember to get a shot of our Sunday school classroom. I can't say I'll be all that enthusiastic about it. The color on the walls is "sad" and the furniture they put in there makes it look like the waiting room of a doctor's office. We're not too crazy about it. Before we had really comfortable over-stuffed couches and a plush blue carpet. Sadly, although the folks who redecorated had good motives, they are not really in touch with what teens want and they didn't listen to me when I told them we liked what we had. The lady in charge just didn't like what was in there, so she changed it. The gal who teaches the ladies' class doesn't like the color either! Oh well! On the positive side, the floor does look really nice.
