Garden Chair by olivetreeann

Garden Chair

I think I'm really enjoying this process I "created" and have dubbed it "distressed vintage" because of all the layering and painting I do while applying the sepia tone and vintage effects to the original shot. I loved the look of these Adirondack-like chairs covered with ivy.
i remember having a photo of meself when i was a little girl in a similar venue of ivy leaves in our backyard - no bench though. hmmm...gotta look for that photo. this really has an old/vintage photograph feel. great processing, i say!

I love how golden it looks, distressed perhaps but also like a pile of treasure

Oh yes, the perfect treatment for this overgrown vintage chair.

I am on the look out for some similar items.

I like how the chair is completely covered with leaves. It is part of the landscape. The processing is also cool, funny how we find a process we love and use it - I suppose it becomes a 'trademark look or style'.

@pandorasecho Thanks Dixie! I would have to agree with that assessment. (o:
@allie912 Thank you Allison!
@digitalrn Thank you Rick! You will have no problem finding them down by you. Happy hunting!
@dibzgreasley Thanks Debs! It's tempting to do it on so many shots- but I'm trying not to go crazy with it. But I must say, I am a vintage kind of gal when it comes to decorating.
@salza Thanks Sally!
@susale Thanks Suse! I'm having fun developing this technique.
@sarasdadandmom Thanks Terry!

Wow. Great shot, Ann! And fantastic job processing. You really could print these large and put on gallery walls.

fav , sad but amazing

@prttblues Thank you Bev!
@axika Thank you Alexandra! And thank you so much for the fav! Don't be sad though- I think it was always decorative because there were plenty of others that were not overgrown plus a lovely gazebo too. And they were all obviously used.

You have captured the magic of what feels like discovering someone's long-lost secret, secluded hide-away...What a find! The warm and rich brown and gold tones of the distressed vintage finish remind me of buried treasure, too...Feels like an enchanted space where the imagination can run free. Would love to see it when it's all green again!

Wonderful textures and color tones.

Beautiful processing, looks like a old photo.

@gratefulness Thank you Sandi! It is actually quite green now as the ivy is green all year round. My processing just makes it look like it's brown. The house and garden belong to two extremely artistic people, so yes, it is quite magical.
@daisymiller Thank you Daisy!
@vesna0210 Thank you Vesna!
