Beautiful Vermont Barn by olivetreeann

Beautiful Vermont Barn

One more from our quick excursion to Rutland to pick up my latest car. In some ways it was a bittersweet trip. We were not too far from where my parents are buried but did not have the luxury of time on our side, so I was unable to make it an overnight and visit the cemetery. It seemed odd to take the same route we used to take when we'd come to visit Dad before he died two years ago, and then to use money he had given to me to buy the car, but not to be able to "see" him. Love, however, is not bound by the grave nor time, so I'm thankful that the car reminds me how blessed I was to have him as my father. I'd always admired this barn whenever we would pass it but never pulled over to take a picture of it. I didn't this time either! We were trying to get to Rutland by 1 pm and we were just about there, so I did my best to capture it from the front seat of the van. It was truly lacking in color and the sky was totally washed out by the sun in the sky, so a little post-processing magic brought it to where it should be. FYI the sky is actually from another shot on the same day but from a better angle.
Ah the magic of post-processing. You have created an image to match your memory. Beautiful.

Loving the light here as well as the heartfelt words you wrote about your Dad. It's easy to tell that he was a wonderful man.
