What an amazing experience today! One of the members of our photo club is on the board of the Tannersville Cranberry Bog and she was able to arrange a private photo shoot for us. The Tannersville bog is the southern most bog in the northern region of North America. Although there are cranberries growing in the bog, it is not the commercial kind you are used to seeing. Spagnum moss forms a thick carpet across the bog giving you the impression there is solid ground underneath, but there isn't! So a floating boardwalk has been constructed to allow access to the beauty of this unique natural habitat. While it was slightly overcast as we met up, the lighting proved to be superb for the macro photography we all came to shoot. But I couldn't resist taking a few landscapes as well, especially at Cranberry Creek where the muted Fall colors looked particularly beautiful to me.
Thank you Phoebe, Chris, Katy, Sally, and Henri!
