Hard to believe it was only a month or so ago that this view was full of green and then the colors of fall decorated the forest. And now, well, let's just say it's not my favorite time of year when all the color is gone.
All the leaves are gone and there is definitely a different kind of color but there is still a certain kind beauty even in this shot. I love the carpet of leaves on the ground.
No, they are just on the ground! My husband was the one at home retired when we living in Charleston, SC so he was the one to clean up the leaves in the fall. He hated doing that and thinks that is the best part of living in the desert now - no leaves to clean up! Me - I think it is gorgeous!
@cruiser Thanks Chris! Yes, we do get snow and when we have a nice coating come December, January or February, I'll take another shot of this scene and add it to the collection. But in the meantime, here's one from last winter: http://365project.org/olivetreeann/themes-and-comp/2015-03-06
@grammyn Thank you Katy! @stownsend Thanks Suzie! That's how my husband feels about mowing the lawn- a chore which he does not have to do here as our yard is covered with Pennsylvania Blue Stone pebbles! We cannot however stop the trees from dropping their leaves. Thank goodness for leaf blowers!
@timewalker Thank you Pam! At times in the winter it will look even worse!
@salza Thank you Sally! That's what ran through my head when I took the picture- hence the title.
@pyrrhula Thank you Ferry! @my_photofun Thank you Darinka! I'm hoping to have a nice collage when I've gotten all the seasons taken. All I need is a snowfall now.
All my spring flowers have gone and I think I am going to struggle with my garden over the summer, we are having some very hot and windy weather. At least my sunflowers are growing and they should look wonderful when they flower.
@nicolecampbell Thank you Nicole! We had a very strange summer here. It started out in the usual manner then got cold, then a heat wave, then cold! And finished off with very temperate degrees. It made for a very difficult growing season for some of the crops and flowers.
@jfitzroy50 California dreamin' Thanks for the view and comment Jim!
@jennywren Thanks Jen! We had a speaker at camera club last month who was telling us he'd started to pay more attention to things in the foregrounds of his landscapes- so it stuck with me!
