It's always fun to watch the action at Aspen Ridge Farm's sheep shearing day. For the most part the sheep behave themselves with the exception being the time they are led to the shearer- they don't like that initial moment they are turned over to be shorn!
This day was no exception. There was lots of noise between the shearing and the "baaa-ing" in the pens. Four of us were there to photograph and Meredith and Tora helped Kristin with the shearing. At one point we heard a clank and one of the sheep pushed her way through the temporary pen housing her and a few others as they waited their turn. It was Tess- one of the ewes- and she had one thing on her mind- treats! She could smell them from the other side of the fence and like a chocoholic she couldn't take it anymore- she had to have a bite!
@aikimomm Thank you Phoebe! It's actually fairly simple. I converted the shot to black and white in sketch type effect, then "painted" the color back in. Then I added a white vignette and the black frame. Quite simple and it took very little time.
@thistle Thank you Joyce and thank you so much for the fav! @alia_801 Thank you Alia! @grammyn Thank you Katy! She's not my granddaughter (although I wouldn't mind having her as a granddaughter!), she's the daughter of the farmer. @nicoleterheide Thank you Nicole! @wendyfrost Thank you Wendy!
@olivetreeann Doesn't sound "simple" to me! One of these days, I hope in this lifetime, I would like to play around with post-processing and special effects, etc. In order to do that, though, I would have to give up something: pottery? gardening? reading? walking? school? cooking?
@aikimomm It would depend on how deeply involved with it you want to get. I don't think you'd have to give up anything though. Some people spend hours on it, but not me. I let the computer do most of the work and only on occasion do I do post-processing that's more elaborate. This one truly took 10 minutes tops.
@grammyn I wasn't sure- you've really paid a lot of attention to my family shots!
